SNAP Food Assistance
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), sometimes still called food stamps, provides monthly benefits on an EBT card that can be used to buy groceries. In Florida, SNAP is run by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) and applications are made through ACCESS Florida.
Who it is for
Households with limited income. The amount of help depends on household size, income, and certain expenses such as housing costs. Different rules can apply to older adults and people with disabilities.
How we can help
- Help you understand the rules and what information the application asks for.
- Help you complete the application and prepare for the eligibility interview.
- Help you keep track of renewals and requests for information.
We are not a government agency. Final eligibility decisions are made by the agencies that run each program. Our help is free.
